Born in a small Swiss town surrounded by the leman lake and mountains, Matik grew up in a creative environment shaped by his parents' passion for craftsmanship, design, and travel.

After six years studying technical drawing and architecture, he discovered tattooing in 2013 and began his apprenticeship under the guidance of Seb Inkme in Perpignan, France.

Since then, his journey has taken him across the world through tattoo conventions, guest residencies, and artistic collaborations throughout Europe, Asia, and Central America. These experiences have profoundly influenced his work, alongside a longstanding spiritual connection to Asia, particularly India with his sacred art, symbolism, and traditions continue to inspire his artistic vision.

Specializing in ornamental compositions, animals, and landscapes, Matik has developed a distinctive style that balances precision with emotion. Every tattoo is thoughtfully designed as a personal journey, where symbolism, spirituality, and storytelling come together to create a unique and meaningful piece.

Whether creating a small, intimate tattoo or a full body suit, Matik approaches every project with the same commitment to craftsmanship, harmony, and artistic integrity.

His passion extends far beyond tattooing. A dedicated collector of Asian art, tantric paintings, ritual masks, vintage T-shirts, antique Indian tattoo flash, and historic tattoo machines, he is constantly drawn to objects that preserve stories, traditions, and cultural heritage.

In 2018, together with his friend Rashid, he founded Kitam Bazaar in Kathmandu, a carefully curated space celebrating handcrafted textiles, vintage clothing, rare accessories, and unique treasures collected throughout years of travel and exploration.

Photography is another essential part of his creative practice. Working exclusively with 35mm film and experimenting with double exposures, Matik creates dreamlike images where landscapes, portraits, sacred ceremonies, and fleeting moments merge into a single frame. Each photograph becomes a dialogue between memory and imagination, blending reality with the unseen.

Inspired by tradition while embracing a contemporary artistic language, Matik's work reflects a lifelong fascination with culture, spirituality, and human connection. Through tattooing, photography, and collecting, he invites people to discover stories that transcend borders and celebrate the enduring beauty of craftsmanship and shared human experience.
