Born in a small Swiss town surrounded by lakes and mountains, Matik grew up in a creative environment shaped by his parents’ passion for craftsmanship, design, and travel.

After six years studying technical drawing and architecture, he discovered tattooing in 2013 and began his apprenticeship under the guidance of Seb Inkme in Perpignan, France.

Since then, his journey has taken him across the globe through tattoo conventions, guest residencies, and artistic collaborations throughout Europe, Asia, Central America. His work is deeply informed by these travels and by a longstanding spiritual connection to Asia, particularly India, whose sacred art, symbolism, and traditions continue to inspire his creative vision.

Specializing in ornamental compositions, animals, and landscapes, Matik has developed a distinctive style that bridges precision and poetry. Each piece is thoughtfully designed as a personal journey, inviting the wearer into a world where symbolism, spirituality, and storytelling become one.

Whether creating a small, meaningful tattoo or an extensive body suit, Matik approaches every project with the same dedication to craftsmanship, balance, and artistic integrity.

Matik’s passion extends far beyond tattooing. A devoted collector of Asian art, tantric paintings, ritual masks, vintage t-shirts, antique Indian tattoo flash, and historic tattoo machines, he is constantly drawn to objects that carry stories, traditions, and forgotten worlds.
In 2018, together with his friend Rashid, he founded Kitam Bazaar in Kathmandu—a carefully curated space filled with vintage clothing, handcrafted textiles, rare accessories, and treasures gathered throughout years of travel and exploration.

His artistic vision also finds expression through 35mm film photography. Working with double exposures, he creates dreamlike compositions where landscapes, faces, sacred ceremonies, and fleeting moments merge into a single frame. Each image becomes a dialogue between memory and imagination, past and present.

Ancient as time, modern as tomorrow, Matik’s work exists at the crossroads of tradition and transformation. Every tattoo, photograph, and collection reflects a lifelong fascination with culture, spirituality, and human connection. Through his art, he invites us into a world where ancient symbols remain alive, where beauty transcends borders, and where every journey becomes part of a larger story.
